Were following what she learned at the Fundamentals as well as what we have read in all of your blogs and such. Only thing were eating sometimes that we "should not" is white rice. Half Asian, have to have some rice. We are excited, and looking forward to it. Thanks Chris, and Thanks Laura.Paul Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09192058386912569101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1268770205737244071.post-49800141577884214562012-03-07T12:28:35.481-05:002012-03-07T12:28:35.481-05:00brown means the germ/husk is still on which contai...brown means the germ/husk is still on which contains all the bad stuff (phytates, trypsin inhibitors, etc) so go with white.Chris P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00541717780115506753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1268770205737244071.post-50629301787165739612012-03-07T11:58:35.937-05:002012-03-07T11:58:35.937-05:00what about the white/brown fight?what about the white/brown fight?Jason Lyonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08145200509096560866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1268770205737244071.post-90821239689100143712012-03-07T10:32:16.344-05:002012-03-07T10:32:16.344-05:00btw, those hardliners are also usually the people ...btw, those hardliners are also usually the people who argue that "cavemen didn't eat it, so people shouldn't." You may get some hardliners that say &quo...correct. You may get some hardliners that say "no rice!" but progressive paleo peeps (you like that alliteration?) would agree that it's a fine source of starch and glycogen replacement. I'm in the latter camp. Sweet potatoes and squash have better variety of other nutrients, so those would be top two.Chris P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00541717780115506753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1268770205737244071.post-51062530300226709212012-03-07T10:19:41.679-05:002012-03-07T10:19:41.679-05:00I must have missed something. Rice doesn't contain gluten like wheat, but it does have phytates, trypsin inhibitors and haemagglutinin. HOWEVER, these bad things are found in the hull or shell, so cooked white rice is basically starch. If someone is sedentary and looking to lean out, I would not recommend it. But if you are a CrossFitter or need to replenish glycogen, cooked white rice is a decent choice. Bottom line is that for most people eating white rice every once in awhile or immediately after a workout, you'll be fine. Some people might have huge insulin spikes after eating rice though, so I can't say it's meant for everyone.Chris P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00541717780115506753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1268770205737244071.post-4147870075046446382012-03-07T07:38:39.125-05:002012-03-07T07:38:39.125-05:00No rice??No rice??Dan L.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1268770205737244071.post-5307093562606059392012-03-06T22:58:38.632-05:002012-03-06T22:58:38.632-05:00I've had a couple of friends ask about Paleo i...I've had a couple of friends ask about Paleo in the past couple of days and this is a perfect explanation.
